ponte fabricius - rome

The Ponte Fabricius is the oldest bridge in Rome that still exists in its original state. It spans half of the Tiber River, from the Campus Martius on the east side to Tiber island in the middle.
The bridge was built in 62 BC, to replace an earlier wooden bridge and was commissioned by Lucius Fabricius. Completely intact from Roman antiquity, it has been in continuous use ever since.

  9. Wonderful painting, as always. This economy of colors is, possibly, what gives to the whole painting this great harmony. I like this net of branches on the foreground. Cheers.
